Bev-A-Line® XX for particle counting
Particle counting in clean rooms
In cleanrooms classified as ISO 5 to ISO 8, such as those typically used in the pharmaceutical industry, semiconductor manufacturing, or biotechnology, continuous monitoring of air purity is essential. Particle counters or airborne particle measuring devices are used to measure the concentration of airborne particles and ensure cleanroom classification. A Bev-A-Line® XX tubing is often used for reliable and contamination-free air sampling.
Bev-A-Line® XX is a high-performance plastic tubing specifically designed for applications requiring chemical resistance, low outgassing, and a smooth inner surface.
The flexible structure allows for precise positioning at the desired sampling point in the cleanroom (e.g., near critical process zones or at air outlets). The tubing directs the drawn-in air from the sampling point to the optical sensor of the particle counter. It is crucial that the tubing does not emit its own particles (low particle shedding) to avoid distorting the measurement results.
Due to its mechanical strength, the tubing can withstand the negative pressures created during sampling without collapsing or distorting the air volume. Depending on the application and the risk of contamination, the tubing is replaced regularly or disinfected or sterilized at a defined cleaning interval.
Requirements for sampling tubing
- flexible
- Co-extrusion for reduced permeability and low particle deposition
- stretchable for easy connection
- the tubing material does not interfere with the air sample
